- what in the what is going on here... I like it
- had no idea where to start but gradually found my legs, trying out different formats and coming up with new ones
- mostly tried to guide myself with “this is a magical blogging platform, what can I create with it?” I sent the first post and hoped for the best. Seeing the next posts come in reassured me that in fact nobody else knew what they were doing either and we were all kinda feeling it out.
- this is in contrast to the approach Shahruz took:
- "what if everyone was already here and were also tasked with figuring out 10 things to post"?
- Shahruz: ▦ 1 → X
- need cool transclusions here, seperate styling, blocks within posts
- "what if everyone was already here and were also tasked with figuring out 10 things to post"?
- which seems like a great way to get over the audience bootstrapping problem

- converting between formats was annoying, but clarifying. A lot of these frictions are workaround-able; the much more important question is what do we want to convert, and for who?
- post types are quite subjective: maybe “format” is a more fitting word here? post types feels like it has opinions about the format/structure of the data, not just the presentation layer
- also, putting in references to other posts and y’all’s names was a mindfuck. Even hyperlinking my own posts was difficult
- need some target resolution here. Perhaps query-based stable references, some way to say “Kristen’s fifth post” and have it create a stable link
- auto-inserting backlinks into referenced posts would be great
- auto would be much easier
- having a semi-consistent way for them to show up on all posts means less anxiety about editing others’ posts
- what does editing other people’s posts look like in a distributed trust-based network? presumably “friends” will be able to edit posts of “friends”... but what about “friends of friends”?
- dates dates dates dates dates
- still breaking my mind
- if I come up with the idea for a post on Tuesday, write it on Wednesday, and publish it on Thursday - all three dates are viable “dates”
- more accurately than one date - it was created over a range of time, in a variety of contexts and locations and amid various influences and inspirations
- overall feeling really excited about the space we're playing in
- almost always, once I “pasted” the content into the markdown from the original place I wrote it, I felt like the container was now different; more long-lasting and easier to reference, but less malleable and somewhat removed from the context of the original creation of the idea
- how do edits work? are changelogs interesting? if someone responded to or referenced part of my post should they receive a notification if I edit that part? the whole post?

- I love how much posts reflected their authors. Everyone has their own style and way of sense making
- Even though my posts felt influenced by other’s posts, I found (find) it hard to in some way memorialize their influences digitally
- some way of “replying to” three posts at once
- like a soft association between posts
- Even though my posts felt influenced by other’s posts, I found (find) it hard to in some way memorialize their influences digitally
- interesting possibilities for visualizing the posts, some sort of timeline view, but also showing connections (hyperlinks & references) between them
- social targeting at post or block level
- where will the line be between writing for buzzard and writing through buzzard?
- if we re-orient everyone to be self-publishing nodes, buzzard (the collection of us five) members becomes an emergent lens to look at all of us individual nodes’ behavior during a period of time
- with the right lens, a higher structure emerges, but without it - it looks like noise
- parting thoughts
- this was the funnest game so far
- I love playing with you all
- thanks
